Adding new job to docket

Post by Steve N »

I have a problem with EstLite, if I take in more than one framing job for a customer, lets say I price up for one job( lets call it A) and then fill in the details for the job, then press the Add new job to docket, price up for that one ( call this one B). Then fill in the details for that one, and the customer wants to change something on the first job (A), if I go back to the first one and make a change, and preview the docket, the second job (B) has been replace with the changed first job (call this one A1), so I have the first job on the docket twice, one as the original (A) and once as the changed one(A1), but the second original (B) has disappeared. Am I doing something wrong, any help would be appreciated.

The second job, B, is not fully recognised by the program until you press the "Add New Job To Docket" button. After doing this you will be able to go back and edit either A or B. You can then either continue by entering the details for job C, or if there are no more jobs, just delete the empty job C by clicking on "Clear Job From Docket", and print.

Still getting problems with this, yesterday I had taken a few orders in, when later in the day had a customer come in with w few things to frame, got on to his third item, when he ask about the second item, I used the back keys to have a look. I then pressed preview to check the work order and another item had been added to the order from a earlier customer, so I had to print this order off and start again. The program just don't like looking at a earlier item and it gets mixed up a real PITA :xcomputer: :xcomputer:

This happens when you are in the middle of adding a new job to the docket. EstLite really wants you to complete that process before you start to look back through the job list for the docket.

If you remember to complete the details of the current job, and let EstLite know that data entry for that job is complete by clicking "Add New Job To Docket", you should then be able to navigate backwards and forwards through the jobs of that docket, and edit or delete at will.

Thanks for reminding me about this 'feature' of EstLite, I will look into finding a solution. Perhaps the user should be forced to complete the data entry task before being allowed to step back through the jobs.

Hi John,
It's hard to work out what you are deleting sometimes as you have to do it from the measurements and mounding ref, I sometimes delete the wrong job (happened yesterday). As far as I'm concerned it's the only bug that gets on my nerves, a brill program otherwise.

Wow, now that would be a pain in the ass!

However, totally unnecessary.

On the details screen, select any job you want to edit/delete from the drop-down list of "Subjects".

You're welcome, Steve.

**Cough**

But let's have no more talk of 'bugs' in EstLite. :bug:
From time to time you may stumble upon what can be referred to as an undocumented feature* - never a bug. :fixit:
:D :D :D :D :D :D :D

* If you look hard you might discover an Easter egg though. :giggle:
