Multiple "Others" ?

Post by Bagpuss »

Hi,
I wanted to setup a cost for medal framing in the "Other" list, a customer wants 4 medals in a frame with a nameplate ( I already have nameplate setup in the Other list ). I cannot see that I can select 4 medals and 1 nameplate from the "Other" list, is there any way round this ? If not, what do you do when you have more than a single item from the "Other" list ? Hope that makes sense ...

Thanks,
Adam/Bagpuss

Consider using either the Mount Decoration or Fix lists. I would probably go with Mount Decoration.

Or if you do not want the price scaled relative to frame size you could still use the Other list.
By adding something like:
  • Nameplate & 1 Medal
  • Nameplate & 2 Medals
  • Nameplate & 3 Medals
  • etc.
Once set up you will find it very straightforward to use. We use the Other list in this way for name frames, which are priced according to the number of letters

Thanks for this John, it's good to know how others do this sort of thing in Estlite.
Out of interest, do you use "Others" for when someone wants a football boot, boxing glove etc., in a frame with photos etc. ? I had someone bring some Irish Dancing shoes in yesterday, which will be a first for me, should I price along the lines of "Shadow box - Large", "Shadow box - Medium" etc., ?

With thanks,

Depends on how your shadow box is constructed.
  • The stacked moulding
The individual mouldings are simply added with a plus sign between each in the moulding input box.
  • The coved box
Add item to the mount decoration list
  • The foamcore box
Add item to the mount decoration list
Though we cover shirt framing with a single item in the Fix list.
