List Index Problem

Post by Walrus »

G'day ...

Downloaded the trial (again) and reinstalled after rebuilding the computer with new board/memory/drives.

Installed fine, but whenever I attempt to alter a price, I get a "List index out of bounds (-1)" error.

Any clues?

Machine is a 2.4G Celeron with 256MB DDR and 80GB drive. WinXP pro.

G'day again ...

Actually, it happens on any input - not just alterations to prices.

If I attempt to write an order, every time I attempt to input data, I get the error.

Hi Walrus,

Try uninstalling before you run the downloaded file estsetup.exe.

Do this from the control pannel - Add/Remove programs.

If this doesn't work, repeat the uninstall then delete the folder:-
Program Files/Est
Then install by running estsetup.exe.

There should be no need for you to re-download before trying either of the above.

Are you running other applications concurrently with EstLite?

G'day John ...

Wasn't clear, sorry.

It's a fresh install, on a new computer drive. Weird.

Only downloaded again because the previous d/l was swallowed by the old drive - along with a bucket of other stuff.

No worries Walrus, I meant for you to remove this new install and start again. I know it's a bit of a longshot, but worth a try.

Great glyph by the way :)

G'day John ...

Found the problem.

In options, I have changed many of the descriptions to be more meaningful for us, like "2mm Float Glass" rather than " Plain Glass."

However when I attempt to change " Plastic Glass" to something like " Acrylic Glazing" or "Anti-UV Acrylic," the error manifests itself on that setting and from then on, any subsequent attempt at input into the system.

Looks like your configuration file, est.ini, has got damaged somehow.

Could you attach it to an email and send it to me (est@scenes.biz), so that I can clean it up for you.

It will be in the folder C:\Program Files\Est\est.ini

In the mean time I will have a look at EstLite to see if I can find the cause.
