Photographer seeks framing partner

Post by Timelord56 »

Hi, I'm a photographer and am learning rudimentary framing techniques from an artist friend who has made his own frames for decades. He no longer does so, however, owing to the effects of advancing MS. I have a project for which I would like to partner with a skilled and creative framer. I am looking to produce a series of images in which the frames will be an integral and equal part of the finished work. Examples that I have in mind are driftwood frames of coastal images and live-edge frames of nature and landscape images, but these are just the beginning. I'll post some images to this string when I figure out what I need to do to achieve that. :head:

I hope this works and I haven't done anything illegal.

I'm not totally sure what you are looking for on here.
If you are looking for a framer it will be worth contacting one or two local to you.
If you are looking for ideas for specific frames post the photos along with some ideas and see what others think.

Also, I am wondering what would be the attraction, or motivation for a framer to want to partner with you. Quite honestly, it might help you to try and sell the idea a little bit in respect of why a framers should be interested in becoming involved. Good framers are generally already fully committed with existing work loads and not necessarily looking to get in to other arrangements as well. So how are you planning to sell the idea to them?

Do you mean ‘Photographer looking for discount’? If so just order in a decent quantity from any framer and the chances are they would give a bit of discount.
