Hi, I tried this method today and can I just say I failed miserably (not enough to warrant the Epic flag though).
I've made the slits, made them about 2mm inside the outline of the cover, looks great until I tighten the straps - then the pressure pushes the cover to reveal the slit (not nice). In the example it looks neat - do I need to put a little fold in the straps underneath the albumcover and not tighten as much?
Make sure that the slots are about one and a half times the width of the Mylar strip, otherwise the geometry will work against you.
Set up your first corner and after positioning, clamp the Mylar strip on either side of the corner of the object with a couple of cheap plastic clamps, do not tension the strip too much at this stage, and use scraps of card to prevent the clamps from damaging the mount. Now do the same at the diagonally opposite corner where more tension can be applied without shifting the sleeve and exposing the slots. Work between the two corners until you are satisfied with the position and tensioning then secure the Mylar strip to the back of the mountboard with a dab of glue and a bit of self-adhesive tape.
Do the same for the other pair of corners.
This is not the only method, but it worked for me, and took less time to do than to compose this. Hope it makes sense.

just an update - hands up, it was my own fault, I had originally cut the slits about 2mm inside the sleeve outline (thinking it would hide the secret) but it was completely wrong. Taking Johns advice with securing the diagonally opposite corners first and making the slits on the edge it worked a treat! Thanks again
