Cassese 299 Clamp Problem

Post by absolute framing »

Hi,

The clamps on my 299 are engaging as soon as i turn on the Machine.

They are normally in neutral and only engage when either the foot-peddle is engaged or the Clamp Positioning button is turned to on.

There is a video below to Illustrate the problem

Any Help/Advice would be much appreciated

So using a bit of intuition and gut instinct I felt the issued lied around the clear tube going into the foot peddle (4)

Started by taking off external cover

Then carefully removed top with suitable allen key - To find this

So I put the broken spring back in, just put smaller bit down bottom and inverted longer piece and re-assembled.

I'ts now all working properly again, however don't see spring lasting.

Anybody out there sell this part ?

Not sure, but I'd guess that that spring is maybe not specially made for that machine. Lots of springs available online so it's a question of some careful measuring and finding one the right size.

A few here to choose from.... :)

Thanks Prospero,

Was thinking the same thing, local hardware only has 6mm x 25 mm

Need 5mm x 25 mm to fit into hole :head:
