pint in a box frame

my son owns and runs a brewery in manchester and often does promotions etc he asked me if one
of his branded glasses could be placed in a box frame, i said i couldnt as im only starting out but id put it out to some people
who may know! how would the glass be fitted to the backing board? the glass would have no beer in it.........

I would stand the glass on a shelf, secured with silicone, rather than try and attach it to a mount. If you have access to a CMC or can draw a pattern and get one of the CMC owners on here to cut it, you could cut the mount in the shape of the glass, but a little narrower, and allow glass side to 'sit' back into the aperture. You would need a deep rebate moulding as possibly some build up at the back. I'm not sure if I'm making may self clear.....

Which Brewery red?

As IFGL points to use clear mylar straps run through a slit in t he backing board and fastened on the back with tape. You will need to make a box to go behind the frame and line it to hold the glass in place.

The little shelf idea is the elegant way.

What you have got there is not so much a frame as a display case.

Does your son not have any HALF pint glasses? They are far, far easier to mount than full pint ones!

But anyway, a shelf or even a plinth would be good, so it is not sat in the bottom of the frame. Melinex straps are perfect, if there is a logo the melinex can even be cut to the outside shape of it to make it even harder to see.

As for shaped mounts, personally no likey - stuff looks 'buried'.

A turned plinth painted black and sitting on the bottom of the frame with the glass siliconed to the top of it. A bit like a trophy in a cabinet.
