Anyone recognise this moulding?

Post by DCS »

Just had a customer in the shop who has purchased a painting and would like another picture framed in the same moulding.
Gallery where it was purchased haven't been much help - I suppose they are interested in the painting rather than the frame.
The colour is a dark grey - I thought I had found it in the Mainline catalogue but their profile in concave and this one according to customer is a dome.
I don't think he wants the white inner frame, just the charcoal/silver outer moulding.
Any help would be appreciated.

Margaret

I'm pretty sure you were right the first time. This moulding is scooped but also has quite a deep rebate to hold the slip. I know of a few galleries which frame using this combination.

Thanks Ricky, I spoke to one of the ladies there yesterday, it was the Vegas picture in the catalogue (against the stripey wall) which looked like the profile I wanted, but when I looked at the actual profile, it didn't seem to be what the customer was describing.
I'll wait and see if he pops into the shop again.
