Hot press pump not starting

Hot press pump not starting

As per the title, when I try to start the hot press it just goes "chuff chuff chuff" in order to get it to kick in I have to mess with the exhaust and filter.

Anyone else had this & solved the problem?

I haven't had that problem myself, but probably worth a call to Steve Goodall at Wessex Pictures in Oldham. He's seen most Hotpress related issues, so maybe this is one he knows about.
