Acid free thin card
Acid free thin card
I want some thin card/thick paper for the backing board of pictures that are melinex-wrapped and placed in a browser. Mountboard is too thick, more can be crammed in to the browser if it's not mountboard. Suitably acid free. Any suggestions please?

2-ply barrier board? S&H, Daler.
It is acid free, but handling such thin backing is going to pose far more danger to the picture than
any possible contamination from the board. Especially on larger things.

The gallery where I was trained used Simwhite 600 which they got from the Robert Horne Group. It's 600 micron white box board and china clay coated on both surfaces. They bought it by the pallet load. It's also very smooth and can be used for dry mounting.
