Manual point insertion

I have a rather fragile pastel drawing to frame and I am concerned that the vibration caused by a tab gun will release particles of the pastel to fall on the glass.

I am thinking of using a manual point insertion tool such as this:

What do others do in this situation?

What I tend to do is, put everything in the frame, except the pastel, do this before you have fitted the pastel in the mount, now once you have everything in the frame, use ready made tabs, fire them in, then bend them open, take out the back and the mount. Fit the pastel in the mount and refit into frame, bend the tabs down, check for any dust/dirt, if OK, tape up the back, Job Done.
