Can someone please help?!

I just purchased a Cassese CS276D. I got a schematic and a not so helpful manual. I connected it to a compressor and there was air coming put of the outlet labelled S2 or Ple (I can't remember which one). There is a foot pedal that wasn't connected so I'm not sure where the small hoses go to make it gain optimum pressure and operate succeasfully. Oh also I put the little white hose pictured in either S2 or Ple and I can't pull it back out. I'm sure there's a nack to it! Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

UPDATE

Ok so I've connected the pedal (outlet 1 to Ple, outlet 2 to S2) and I have movement!

There is a leak at E8 though so wount fully pressurise. Should I replace the grommets? They look ok to me...

Just as a point of knowledge, the last "Green" Cassese 276D Underpinner sold in Australia was over 30 years ago.

There were only a handful of these sold in Australia (by a gentleman named Gary Leete from a company called Framer's Equipment - which is no longer around),

When these first arrived in our country, they sold for the equivalent price/value as a brand new Holden Commodore!

Unfortunately, like most technology, so there is little/no knowledge support available for this model, and parts will be difficult/impossible to find as well. The "sundown clause" on supplying parts and service on these machines 'set' over a decade ago.

Notwithstanding, you seem to be quite resourceful so far - and this could still be an interesting project for you to play with.

As far as I can remember, the most common part that required replacement on these machines were the 'and', 'or', 'not' pneumatic valves, which used to be possible to source through local pneumatics supply companies.

If you have an instruction manual/pneumatic diagram for this machine - then you actually have more knowledge on file than MWLJ currently does in Brisbane!

I'm sure a pneumatics specialist could help you read that diagram and further the source the issue.

The only other thing I would add - is that this machine may actually represent some 'historic value', as one of the first underpinners to land in Australia.

Wow Jared that's pretty cool. Not so cool about the parts but historical part is interesting.

I have got it clamping and firing! I haven't tried it on any moulding yet but will be having a go first thing tomorrow morning!

My next step was to contact MWLJ to discuss options, which I was going to any way as I'm starting a mobile picture framing business.

I actually met you Jared when I was pretty green at a framers convention in Darling Harbour. I have held on to a few pearls of wisdom you taught me mainly with marketing and selling that I will be using with my new venture. It's nice to reconnect on here and say thanks for your guidance.

Hi Blake,

I have been using a 276, bought second hand 14 years ago and have found it to be pretty much indestructible.

Although your machine is old, the logic valves in your machine are also used in Cassese's more modern machines and it should be possible to source a replacement for the OR valve that you have found to be leaking. I was able to get one fairly recently from a local (UK) supplier. However, before replacing, you should ensure that the fault lies with the valve rather than the seating.
