CS88 rebate clamp - spring

Post by Steve1958 »

I have a CS88 underpinner and the rebate clamp spring is just hanging down below the machine (must have fallen off when I have moved it around). I am unsure where it should connect to. There doesn't seem any obvious place and I have looked at the manual and there doesn't seem to be any diagrams showing the set up.

If anybody could help I would be most grateful.

Thanks, Steve

Hi and thanks for sending that through that is most appreciated. I had actually already looked all through that manual and it doesn't show the spring clearly or how it connects underneath.

Ideally it would be good if somebody who had a CS88 could take a photo of the under side so I could see the spring attachment mechanism or explain it to me.

Thankyou

One end of the rebate clamp spring goes to the inner of the bowden cable and the other end goes to a hole drilled through the threaded end of a countersunk screw fitted to the table top casting. Not a particular nice way of doing things, but in spite of this at least it works.

I downloaded the manual, because I have one as a back up, well it was my first one bought from a retired framer, now have a pneumatic one, so the CS88 is a 'back up' but the rebate clamp has never worked :head: , think some parts are missing, thinking of doing it up so it will be ready for when I retire in just under 3 years

I've never used it with the rebate clamp working...does it help much?
Thanks,

Never really used it before I noticed the spring had come off, so thought I would give it a go once I fixed it. Next framing run on Friday (part timer ) so will report back
