Hi can someone please tell me how to clean my Morso BA

It's not that important as it does not hinder the machine, the metal is different colours. Would just like to know if this can be cleaned with and agent that causes no harm to the machine. See picture

Cheers Aaron

I use this, and on my underpinner too, it works on all Metals Fibreglass & ceramics,

I never clean mine. It looks a disgrace but it works.

The underpinner is even worse. :P

I don't actually clean my morso, but from time to time I rub a bit of paste wax on the exposed surfaces of the cast iron bed. To be honest, I'm not sure that it matters much, but I like mouldings to slid in place against the measurement stop nicely.

When I can feel that the cast iron surface has lost its glossy feel I give it a little squirt of WD40 and a quick rub over with some fine wire wool followed by a buff with a clean cloth. The muck that is removed is surprising and the surface is then back to a nice clean and smooth working surface. It takes about 30 seconds to complete whole process. This helps the moulding slide into position and reduces the ability of small particles to grip to the surface (the ones that are likely to jam into the sliding measure and cause problems there).

cheers for the advise. I used to use that PEEK stuff for my bike wheels. I will give the WD40 a whirl, its's just so I can see the marking's
