Searching for a L shaped moulding

Post by Fellows Framing »

Hello,

I am looking for a bare wood L shaped/tray moulding into which a 3.7cm deep canvas (60 x 60) fits so its flush with the top of the moulding.

Does any one know of one please?

Or does anyone who makes them from 2 lengths of flat moulding be able to advise me please?

The customer wants them flush and unpainted so minor imperfections cannot be hidden - it may be an impossible task???!

Thanks
Sarah

Hi Sarah -

Lion L2023 (p179) might work - it has a 42mm rebate but with a suitable 5mm spacer behind the canvas could be okay. I've used it before and it cuts and joins well.

Good luck

D & J Simons do one http://www.djsimons.co.uk/index.php?rou ... emb%2F0008

it can be cut either way , so the depth is either 22mm or 36mm (my sample is a whisker over 36mm)

Thanks guys.

Lion moulding with spacer will do nicely - why did I not think of using a spacer???!? So logical when you know.

Try these

https://www.lionpic.co.uk/supplies/fram ... s-offsets/

For anything in between the offset heights, pack out/up with a tiny square of card.
