You can get up to all sorts of tricks with paint finishes. :lol:

The woodgraining effect has been used for many years. Often furniture was built using quite ordinary (=cheap) wood
and given a paint effect that imitated more exotic (=expensive) wood. This is a technique that isn't really a 'fake' effect
but an art in it's own right.
