Morso blades

Post by neilsgti16v2 »

Hello, I have just attached new blades to my morso (they are morso originals) and they are tearing the bottom of the moulding, see photo. I am completely new to this so was wondering if I've missed something, any help appreciated, thanks, Neil.

Hi, the first thing is to cut another moulding, some obeche can be terrible quality. Next is to cut your moulding without the rebate supports. If the profile is flat/square, then cut it upside down. Rebate supports should not be set too high.

Is this happening on each blade, left and right?

Some photos of the blades in situ may help others in diagnosing your problem as this may be beyond my experience.

If I didn't know different I'd say the bottom blades are absent.

David said "some obeche can be terrible quality" and sometimes described as snott wood :giggle:

Have you had this issue with other mouldings?

Welcome to the FF btw.

Looks like snot wood to me, especially as it's breaking out at the back edge (next to the fences) of the moulding, you can normally tell if it's snot wood, it's as light as a feather

Thanks for the replies and welcomes. It does cut a lot better upside down, but as you say I think its just a quality issue!
