Hi All
What is the best Mylar thickness to use for securing items in a frame?
PEP have a roll for £19.00 plus the Vodka And Tonic and that is 75 microns.
Lion do a roll for £28.00 which I think is 95 Microns.
Any other supplier suggestions?

Re: Mylar Thickness
Hi, I use 100 micron from PEL for strapping and wrapping, it has worked fine for everything I have done, although I have thought of getting a thinner film for wrapping as it can be a bit 'stiff'. Ideally I think a thicker material, 125 micron would be better for strapping and a thinner 50-75 micron for wrapping but as I said I find the 100 a good all rounder, the Lion roll at 95 micron would be the same. Make sure you have the correct adhesive normal double sided won't last, I use the 3M 415 from Lion. If you haven't seen it there is a very good book by James Miller, The Complete Guide to Shadow boxes, which includes a section on using Mylar, also available from Lion.

Re: Mylar Thickness
I don't know for sure what thickness my roll is, but the figure that comes to mind is 75 microns.
