Alfamacchine Spring Clamp vs Standard Clamp

I'm just wondering if anybody has any experience of using the spring clamp:

compared to the standard version that has no springs.
I was considering the upgrade for my Minigraf 4 but wanted to know whether I could expect to see much of an improvement.
