Excalibur 4000

Post by Daveyo »

We bought the second hand machine and after being a pig to square was working fine.
Now the mdf head has starting running out.... not too bad over a short length but over 3ft could run out 3 or 4mm +?
I wondering if there is some adjustment Im missing or a bearing knackered ?
There doesnt seem to be much movement in the cutting head but this all a bit new to me...
The glass cutting head is a little out but not within a tolerance that is acceptable.
Any help very appreciated before the machine gets a grinder to it :D
The cutter is old but little used.
Many thanks in advance Dave

I had this problem.

Check that the two cutting wheels are free to rotate. One (or both) can jam up with dust build-up. They can be slackened
off. But not too much, they shouldn't be wobbly. Give the area a good clean while you are at it. Sometimes putting a thin shim
of card behind the block (at the top or bottom - depending on the direction of the run-off) can make the block run true again.
