There are plenty of places to hide tags and stitches. Elelasticated cuffs on the sleeves, elasticated collars, and pleny of places where they won't be seen. Also there's tiny rare earth magets when all elsre fails . I like the long, thin rare earth magnets which can even be pushed into the foamboard from the outer edges. Quite often the magnets need a bit of gummed paper tape to prevent them from springing back out again.

Almost anything that goes through the elasticated bits won't show if you later remove it. Folding the bottom edge of the shirt underneath is a bit more tricky, I'm planning on using fridge magnet tape, if I do any more sports shirts. I cheat a bit and like using magnetic materials in some places.
