anyone know what need clean down and how often for covid precausions.

How much needs cleaning down, with what and how often for covid shut down, when we get back to reopening our shops again. Also do we need to record when the shop is cleaned down. Nobody seems to be telling us very much about this. How are we supposed to know if we are doing this right. Seems crazy, if you ask me.

There’s a huge amount of information on the UK Government website Mark. Specific sections cover shops here —>

Plenty of guidance and checklists to get things sorted. Including a downloadable PDF you can print out and put up to reassure customers you’ve followed the five recommended steps. As a small business with less than 5 employees you don’t need to do a formal written risk assessment, but it takes you through what you can do. There’s also a link to the Health and Safety Executive website with risk assessment templates to help you out.

I also presented a Webinar for Larson Juhl all about reopening and that’s available to watch via their website here —>

We’ve spent the last few weeks sorting everything out and we’re ready to go for reopening next week as per instructions for England. It’s different in other parts of the UK of course. We’ve got our appointment system up and running and are almost booked out for next week already. We’ve followed SteveN’s suggestion and done a COVID-19 specific page on our website including answers to FAQs.

We’ve been watching regular announcements on social media from other local businesses ready to reopen from next week. Some are choosing reduced days or hours to start off with, but all are shouting about the steps they’ve taken to follow the Government advice.

We’ve been very impressed with the amount of useful information available and it’s allowed us to safely and confidently get ready for reopening. Hopefully you will find what you are looking for via one of the links
