I've been asked to frame a wall hanging that a customer has brought back from India. It's not expensive but they would like to be able to see the edging as well. It measures approx 145cm x 66cm but the edges are not straight so my initial idea of putting it straight into a frame won't work. I'm wondering about sewing it onto some mountboard in order to hang it, possibly with some tapestry tape behind it to help support it.
Any other ideas?

That's the way I would do it, sew it on the mountcard showing the edge of the material, it's not going to be a quick job, so you need to charge real money for it, you'll need spacers to keep the glass or acrylic off the work and a decent frame to support the whole job, I would be charging well over 200 to do it, it will take you most of the day to do it. I've had customers not bother with it as " I only paid a fiver for it" then I tell them to buy some of that carpet battern with the spikes in that hold the edge of a fitted carpet down, fit that to the wall and hang it from that

Thanks Steve, that's exactly how I'd priced the job up with the spacer and deep rebate. And yes, they did say they'd paid very little for it but are happy to shell out £300 for it!!
