Diamond Art kit

Post by treave »

Hi, we have a beaded pic in at the moment. I would like to know if it's ok to put in a vacuum press and onto foam board. The press is a lovely bit of kit but it's also the quickest way to bugger up someone's pride and joy🥺

There are quite a few posts on Framers Only about these pieces of work. They seem to be quite common in the U.S. at the moment.

I've just completed a frame with diamond dots in it. I too have a hot press but wouldn't use that on this. As there's fabric usually around it, best to use a strip of heavy duty linen tape across the top to mount (shouldn't cockle as not like paper) Then, use double sided fabric tape on the back to stop it lifting.
I didn't use the fabric tape initially and the frame came back which is not what you want, but now I know to always use it for future projects.Hope this helps :D

Thank you for the info, I spoke to Wessex Fine Art to ask them how they would do it,
They done them before and just put them in the hotpress using film. The customer is not having a mount on the work so it will have to be a really sticky cold board of use the film in the press.
