Hi all
Looking for some suggestions for a felt/baize type covering for our assembly worktops?

The best I've found is Flotex carpet. It's tough, easy to keep clean and doesn't harbour bits. Doesn't shed bristles either.
It is rather on the expensive side as carpet goes, but well worth it in my opinion. If you look online you'll maybe find a
bargain roll-end. I got a piece big enough to do all my 'clean' work benches for less than half-price.

I mostly use grey board. When it get dirty, it gets turned over, when both sides get dirty it 's time for a new piece of grey board. Grey board can be very cheap, if you choose the right grade!

I'd agree with Prospero, although you can also get it in tile form, which is handy if you spill something on the work surface. Just lift the tile, swap it over and you don't have to buy a whole new piece.

I would just add that it wise to avoid jazzy patterns or bright colours.
They will make your eyes go wappy under bright lights.

I've got brown woodgrain.

I agree, Flotex is great, expensive but easy to keep clean and you can cut on it. Loads of offcuts on ebay at the moment.
