Art drawing - See through writings

Post by jmbinette »

Hi to all,

I am framing a custom artist commission, it is a drawing on paper. The paper type is "Clairefontaine Dessin à grain 224g/m2"

Japanese T-hinged with conservation double-mat and a acid-free foamcore backing.

My problem, if it is one, is that the artist wrote a note on the back of the drawing and I am afraid that we will see through the paper when framed.
When dry testing the assembly, I can notice the markings.

My question is : anything I can do ?
Is the type of backing mat makes a difference ?

Thanks & regards,
Timh

I had similar a few years ago. The artwork was on 90g Japanese paper. As Timh mentioned, shadow floated on a darker mount then mounted the pedestal mounted work on a white mount as per the clients wish.

I think thats the best you can do...
