Adhering canvas to dibond with vacuum press

Post by tlm »

Hi all, I’ve recently bought a secondhand HGP360 vacuum press. I want to adhere primed canvas to dibond.

Can anyone recommend a good archival adhesive, ph neutral?

I’ve experimented with some that came with the machine but found the canvas could pull off the dibond fairly easily. Is this normal and because it’s a slick surface? Or was it just not the right adhesive?

Thanks 🙏

I've not mounted canvas yet, but in the Wessex catalogue, Hotpress specify the Dry Mount Film rather than the Unimount Classic film.
Best bet is to call Steve Goodall at Oldham branch Wessex, he's the expert and Hotpress trainer. 07585 138566
