Hello everyone, and yes I know this topic must have been done to death over the years, but I need help.

I used to use Lion for Morso blade sharpening until they stopped the service last year. I have tried all the companies I can find online and some tool sharpening companies too. None have done a good job for me. I think I am going mad reading recommendations online only to find when I get blades back they are unusable. I wont mention companies on here but some blades came back with jagged edges, some hollow ground but with the burr still on, and nearly all of them blunt and pushing mouldings on final cuts.

Can anyone let me into the secret of where to get blades sharpened correctly? I am hating work at the moment and thinking of quitting after 14 years because i can't cut mitres, the most important part of the job.

Oh dear, that's a real shame! Lion were very good at sharpening Morso blades.

I use saw and tooling in Edinburgh after having similar problems with various companies,
They are very good.

We use Mainline’s blade sharpening service. I once used a local company and their prices were very low, the reason for the cheapness soon became apparent.

Mainline for us too. Superb service.

I use Wessex, never had a problem.

Another vote for Wessex - never had any issues

Lion have just recommended them to me. How do they compare price wise? I didn't even know Wessex offered the service. Good to read the recommendations here.

Paper shears (guillotines) use similar blades, but much larger. They are all hollow ground.
Check with local commercial printers to see who they use.

They cost me about £25.00 with the postage back plus the postage to them but they done such a good job i will keep using them regardless if they are more expensive which i dont know if they are to be honest.

Give them a call and they can confirm prices.

I think Wessex is about £15+vat, collected and returned with their van delivery service as part of an order. I only get a fortnightly delivery service so turnaround for me is 4 weeks.

This is timely, I've two sets to go off and didn't know about Lion either.

Wessex (Leamington) said it is £12.50 +VAT but they go down to Bournemouth to be sharpened so for me it would be about a 3 week turnaround. They do collect and deliver with orders on their local vans though so that would save the cost and hassle of postage. I'll be giving them a try I think!
