Here is a little history about Frame Masters.

Post by FRAME MASTERS »

Our founder, Mr. Leo Di Pilla was born in Pittsburgh, but while still in school his family moved to Los Angeles. At the age of twenty he was fortunate to be apprenticed to one of the great master Frame Makers- Stephen Salt. Mr. Salt was born and trained in England and made the frames and gildings for The Queen at Buckingham Palace. He was considered without peer on the West Coast. Mr. Di Pilla spent eight years working with the Englishman until he had mastered every facet of the craft. For ten years after his training. Mr. Di Pilla originated designs and finishes and ran the framing department for the Framecraft Company. Unable to use the full range of his talents he left Framecraft to open his business in 1969. Now after almost 50 years of experience, we have perfected the designs, finish and production technique to bring to you the highest quality composition and hand carved frames, at an exceptional price. Leo has finally retired but please feel free to contact us about any framing or gilding issues you may have.
