Hello all,

Just a few lines to introduce myself. I have been a photographer for many years, and have been helping a friend out in his Gallery. He has shown me the basics, now I am looking to set up myself working from my spare room, don't want the framing to take over as I enjoy photography too much.
Interested in any courses people can suggest as I have a lot to learn beyond basic mounting and framing.

Ady.

Hello Ady and welcome to the FF :D

I can't recommend any courses myself but I'm sure others will be along who can.

Peter.

Welcome Ady.

I've heard good things about the Wessex Pictures week-long course.

Also, Justin on here (username Justintime) speaks very highly of Jan Stanlick's (spelling?...sorry Jan!) courses..... I think he's in Northants (and a member on here...username Mitreman).

Best,

Paul

Hi Ady,

It's nice to have you join us. This a very friendly forum without much formality and I hope you will enjoy joining in with the rest of us. I don't think there are any picture framing trainers around your part of the country, but I noticed that someone mentioned Jan Stanlick of Framers equipment and I hear nice things said about Jan.

Jan has been in this business most of his life, so there's not much that he does not know and it's about an 80 mile journey each way from whwre you are, if you don't mind a trip to Northampton.

Just a quick line to say I attended a basic framing course with Jan and Pete yesterday, and am planning to attend others in the future. Friendly and knowledgeable Pete is also full of technical advice and can help to equip a workshop. No I wasn't asked to post this, but thought it might help others starting out.
