CUSTOMERS Don't you just love them?

Post by pichousepreston »

My first customer today was a chap telling me that I should buy all my frames from Ikea as they are so cheap. Half an hour later he came back with a frame in 4 pieces that he had bought from Ikea that had dropped to bits. Could I fix it? Priceless!

I'd have fixed it for him, at £30 an hour.

Just finished replacing glass on second Ikea frame of the day. ("I broke the glass in a frame could you replace it?)

This is steady Saturday business for me. 2nd most popular Ikea job is cutting a mount to fit their photo / poster. Its a framers secret that while ikea make apertures in metric, Photos, posters and almost anything framable is in imperial so a constant stream of work is coming our way. Please dont tell them.

Bless you Ikea, you make my Saturdays more profitable!

I had a peculiar one this morning (notIK*A related. lady with a little framed print with a tidemark on the mount. The back was glued in. In fact it was the glue seeping that had ruined the mount. :?

Of course they would, you just need a broken bottle and some sellotape.
