What do you use to clean glass ?
Good morning framers. For years we have been using those big rolls of blue tissue to clean our glass, but we now have difficulty getting it locally. What other cloths / tissues would you recommend, please ?

I have found sheets aren't as absorbent as tissue...maybe I've been using the wrong sort ! I'll give it another go, thanks !
Re: What do you use to clean glass ?
We use a combination of micro fibre cloths and kitchen roll which we buy in large quantities from Viking and Staples. We prefer the kitchen rolls as they're perfectly clean each time, cloths absorb oil from the skin.

Just micro fibre cloths. They seem to last a fair while before they get a bit streaky. I spray a little 'Method Glass' from Waitrose onto the cloth seems to work a treat. When they do get a bit greasy I just stick them in the wash.

Large roll of blue tissue same as the guy with the monkey avatar.
I have a mate who is a supplier of it, in fact anything you squirt, spray or need to clean he has it all. Would you like a price, it will be a good price but as usual the carriage costs kill it.

I used to use blue paper towels but I can't seem to get them in big enough sheets anymore. One day I tried kitchen paper from LDLs and I've never looked back.

Good quality kitchen tissue and Nil Glass. I also use kitchen tissue for staining, waxing, and rubbing paint onto mouldings.

.
This is our preferred glass cleaning fluid
Funny story - one day in Paula's (my framer, her wot drew the butterfly) first week, I came in to the workshop with two glasses with about 25mm of diluted Ribena in, but concealed by my body. Put them on the mount board storage unit, on top of which, amongst all sorts of other stuff, was a bottle of lionshine and a bottle of water.
With the glasses still concealed I said "Fancy a drink Paula"? Grabbed the lionshine, (had explained previous what it's made from) went through the motions of removing the screw cap and pouring a bit in each glass - revealed the glasses, poured about 2" of water in to each glass, handed her one and knocked mine back with a satisfying "Ahhhhh"
Her face!

Many of the above but + air from a blow gun. My ritual is then to fip it over ( helps with gravity but probably not static) and place it over the mount.
Then go flumb hunting.

Re: What do you use to clean glass ?
I use this
http://www.homesecureshop.co.uk/product ... wwodtBEALw
2 cloth method, old cotton sheet/t-shirt for the cleaning, then some white, heavy duty tissue for the drying/polishing
Used to use Nilglass which was good, tried Lionshine which is ok, but find the above is better
Really wish I could do shortened links

Re: What do you use to clean glass ?
I use blue Tork cloths from lion, they are large and very strong. I have just boght 2 x 5L of nil Glass from macro for about £5 each, only to find I had a couple of litres left of other glass cleaner which I bought a few years ago and a couple of litres of glass concentrate which I have had for at least 10 yrs

I get the big rolls of blue paper from Bookers. Six huge rolls for about 9.00 gbp. Does the job perfectly.

Oops - take it to the court of appeal, I'll give you a reference if you like
Anyway - this is what you'd see except the squiggly brackets would be square brackets.
