Has anyone tried displaying moulding chevrons using sheet metal and strip magnets?
I want to display them without using velcro if I can. I guess my main concern would be that strip magnets (as in the flexible stuff) aren't amazingly strong. Sheet metal cut to size is quite readily available online, and not too dear.
If anyone's tried it it would be good to hear if it worked or not.

I think you will find that the heavier mouldings would slide down

Velcro is ok but when the customer wants to put it on a delicate cross stitchyou have to be quick to stop them, magnets make sense, I'm sure if you put a large piece of magnet on they wouldn't slide, they can be purchased in sheet form and is cutable with scissors
Re: Moulding chevrons
You can get rare earth magnets which are very strong. But enough to do all your chevs would be expensive. Plus you would have to fix which would need them sinking into all the corners so they were flush with the surface. Not a quick or easy job.

I was thinking earth magnets too .... but differently!
If you could get strips of these things and I know you can get short strips ( a lot of which would cost a small fortune but it would be once-only and they could be sunk BEHIND a covering fabric ... which could be Velcro-friendly so's you'd have that option too) they are so powerful you may well not need any attachment on your samples, the 'V' nails would be enough! (?)
