Isn't 'Because you can' enough ?? Anyway, with toys like this what's reason got to do with it. Joking aside though, I would like one - just for a play - I'm sure I'd find things to do..... I've made a few little things (Juke box/Retro gameing devices etc etc) based on the Raspberry Pi - so far I've just made little wooden boxes for enclosures but something like this would be great (check out Ben Heck on Youtube)

Anyway, enough dreaming :giggle:

If these corners are £2 each, then you only need to make 150 (plus a bit more for some plastic) to justify the cost of the machine. That's only 40 frames.

The bit I don't know about, is how would you programme the thing to make them?

So in 6 months' time I can become a 3D designer...

A 3d printer would by very useful for anyone that does a lot of framing difficult objects. Just think of all the special supports for difficult to frame items.

Maybe the forum will one day have a section for swapping designs. Not only that, but can you imagine when you need a spare part for something, there will be some spare parts that you can make for yourself using your 3d printer.

You know that you want one! :giggle:

At some point the metal, and ceramic resin printers will become much cheaper just as the plastic ones have, then things really will get interesting, need a new rebate support, no problem give me twenty minutes.

Absolutely. I read somewhere that warships now (/are about to) come with metal 3D printers for making repairs when miles from anywhere.
