"I'm a picture framer"........."Oh"
When I was young and lovely (one can dream, and I'm fast approaching the age when I don't care either way) I fell in love with Alison, a doey eyed, black bob gal at college.
She alas didn't reciprocate but we were chums - her being very pretty turned many heads.
We met at a party a few years later and when asked how I could afford such an outrageous haircut, I said "I'm a picture framer".
Her immediate lack of enthusiasm was er, telling.
Yesterday, I was in a shop wearing old motorcycle trousers, very snug and warm, too lazy to remove, and a kindly older lady said "yes, it is very chilly isn't it?" casting her gaze down at my sartorial elegance.
"I'm working in my garage" smiling back.
"Oooh I bet your doing something really good in there" (!?)
"I'm a picture framer"
"Oh".
How about you 'orrible lot - does your job description send the opposite sex into raptures too?

It's all part of evolution. If picture framers were to interbreed with non-picture framers
they would become extinct.
they would become extinct.

As it was said above it's how you sell it. I have a number of responses depending who I'm talking to. I have used; I own an art gallery, art dealer, designer, display or presentation designer, I'm also a chief buyer and marketing manager. Been a racing driver too.

If you have a trumpet you got to blow it yourself.
No one is going to blow it for you.
