Logan border app

Post by Beemer »

Yesterday I downloaded the Logan app for calculating mount border dimensions.

Does anyone here find this useful? I note that I could not vary the width of the bottom border.
Also not explained is that you need to enter metric values as Metre not cm values.

as prospero said, you could just use a calculator
and pencil and scrap mountcard to draw the design on

Most probably take you longer to find the app on your phone/tablet than to do it 'old school' :giggle:

I've always done it mentally which is easier when working Metric. What I don't like is folk asking for Imperial size frames, or supplying them, whilst I work with ISO paper sizes and ISO crop ratios and Photoshop.
Not a big issue though as I'm just an amateur framer.

Starting a mount design where the dimensions of both aperture and frame are known is not a thing with us, apart from when making a mount for a customer with a ready made frame. Normally we agree the mount width with our customer and calculate the frame dimensions from that.

Bottom weighting is our default unless our customer requests otherwise.

So, sorry Logan, this app would not be of much benefit to us.

Also, I'm always super wary of apps that require full network access.

:giggle: If you need an app to tell you when something is 'right', it's as well to consider a different career. :P
