Morso second stop
HI, I have a Moso secod stop but I can't get my head around how to set it. I'm getting old obviously. Can anyone advise please? It looks simple but I can see the way to set the measurement, I assume you use the original measurement gauge to position the second stop?

Re: Morso second stop
I don't have one but from what I understand you set up the original stop for the longer length, and the second stop for the shorter length.
Then you flip the second stop out of the way and you cut the longer lengths, then replace and cut the shorter lengths.

Re: Morso second stop
Correct, however it's setting the measurement. The second stop deducts 40mm from the measured length, so there is an additional mental arithmetic step to set the second stop to 40mm longer than you actually need. I can't see another way of doing it, unless I'm being particularly slow today.

Re: Morso second stop
By measuring from the other side of the stop? (Warning: I have no idea, haven't ever seen one other than in a picture.)
Re: Morso second stop
Never used one, but as far as I can tell from pics the second stop has no system for compensation of the moulding width.
It's just a flippable extra stop.
I think what you have to do is set the long side as per usual on the main stop. Say its 600mm with a 40mm wide moulding.
Zero on the long stop will be at 680mm. Then work out the differential of the frame. If the short side needs to be 500, the the
diff will be 100. Set the second stop to 580 dead.

I found this video

Fast forward to about 8 minutes 30 seconds.
Basically set the short length using usual method and butt the moulding to the gauge. Hold the moulding in place, slide the gauge back, butt the second stop to the moulding and tighten. Then reset the normal gauge as normal for longer length.
