Dibond

Post by GeoSpectrum »

I had a play cutting some 3mm dibond on my Excalibur 5000 today and it seems to cut just fine, it does impart a very slight curve but that seems to flatten easy enough. Has anyone experience of doing this?

Can anyone recommend a good supplier of dibond sheets?

Thanks

Well I never thought the 500 was up to it - did you use the board cutting attachment and really, did you find it strong enough to cut without straining the machine?

I'm cutting 3mm dibond and I'm using the board cutter that came with the cutter, mounted on the vertical slider, so I guess it is the board cutting attachment. It seems to cope just fine, although there is a very slight distortion of the first couple of mm of the cut.

Hi Alan

Have you tried a company called "Sign Materials Direct" based in Hounslow, Tel; 0203 667 7007. :?:

IMHO vg customer service and products at the right price. :D

By the way, thank you for the help and advice you gave me last year when I was setting up my new framing operation. Having been retired from framing for a few years I was well out of date regarding materials. You may not remember but I phoned you with some very naïve and basic questions  and you were very helpful.
