Stanley blades
On an old thread there was a link to a Stanley blade specifically for scoring acrylic but the link was broken. I use a general purpose 1992 blade for everything, but are there more effective blades, particularly for scoring acrylic?

Re: Stanley blades
I use a hooked blade.
I'm sure it came from a recommendation on the board years ago when my glass cutting wheel didn't work.

Re: Stanley blades
On the Excalibar 5000 the scoring blade is the normal Stanley blade reversed. I have often used the back of the Stanley knife to score acrylic

Re: Stanley blades
I’ve used ordinary Stanley blades and the ones specifically for plastic- the results have always been a bit hit and miss, so I bought one of these:

Not cheap, but if you cut a regular amount of acrylic it’s worth it. Easy to use and does a great job every time. They also do a cheaper one but as I’ve never used it I can’t say whether it’s any good.

I use a similar tool shown by marky9.
Mine is a cheaper variant made by plasplug. I originally purchased it for cutting Formica but it scores plastic/acrylic with no problem.
