Canvas Stretching Machine

Post by GeoSpectrum »

I'm in the market for a canvas stretching machine new or used. I've see the Join Rite bench top ones from lion and the Plim Tendy (discontinued by Lion). Can anyone advise on any others or have any experience of the two mentioned? I don't really need a volume solution but I want to stop doing canvases by hand due to a touch of rheumatism in my right hand.

Any thoughts??

Where I once worked we had one EZstretch I think it was called, it was OK, but found that there has to be a fair amount of free canvas, so it can be griped, take a bit of practise to stretch a canvas such as a photo print, where that image is only on the front and not gallery wrapped, I only used to use it if we had a load to do, we had one trade customer who had printed canvas with a abstract patterns on, so lining up things was not required, or if we were doing blank canvases, customers one off canvases were easier and quicker to do by hand
