Coloured Mounts

Post by irishsi »

hi, can anyone tell me where I can buy a set of the things for checking which coloured Mount will suit a particular picture. They look like a bunch of set squares all bunched together. I've no idea what the name for it is. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi irishsi and welcome to the forum :D

They are known in the trade as mountboard chevrons. You can get some here https://www.lionpic.co.uk/mountboard-bo ... t/samples/

Are you an artist or framer?

Also here https://larsonjuhl.co.uk/mountboard/mou ... count%3d36

Or call into your local framer :D

Is it a full range of colours you're looking for a just a few colours? If you are an artist, you could persuade your local framer to cut a couple of chevrons for you from offcuts? If you are a framer then contact suppliers directly and ask for full chevron sets.

hi David, thanks very much for getting back to me and the links are very helpful - i'll contact the suppliers and get a set. I have no artistic ability whatsoever so i'm basically in awe of anyone who can create art. In particular I collect Japanese Woodblock Prints. Many thanks and kind regards, Simon.
