Post by Eran »

Currently looking to buy some ready-made frames size 20x24 inch
Arcadia don't have the variety I'm looking for neither Wessex Framing.

Any ideas where I can get them?

We use the following https://www.pictureframesandmounts.co.u ... re-frames/
Can’t believe how many we manage to sell. We currently only stock the cheaper range (Polcore) but may expand our range space and demand permitting

Thank you very much for welcoming me to the forms.
I have seen those frame with Arcadia as well but anyway thanks for the link.

I will attach a photograph now so you can see what I'm talking about.

The frame originally was black and white liner but I have painted it because of some scratches.

Many thanks

Eran

From the photos, that frame looks to me like it is a hand made stacked moulding frame. Could that be what it is?

Before they went bust and closed down, there was a company in Callington, in Cornall called Manuscript who did quite a bit of framing of their own prints for Galleries and they bought up job lots of discontinued stuff, some of which got stacked to make bigger profiles to look good in galleries. That's quite typical of the sort of stuff that they turned out and it would not surprise me, if it was one of their frames.

They used to sell some nice looking frames and they were still in business during the earlier yearrs of when I fist worked in framing. There was a lot of changes going on about then and not everybody survived the changes. The place that I was working, sold lots of framed Hong Kong oils and suddenly, almost over night, they switched to selling mostly DeMontford and Wwashington Green prints. Everything was different so fast.
