Glue for Polycore moulding

Post by boscawen46 »

Hi,
I am making batches of frames using Polycore moulding and want to glue the corners. I have experimented with super glue that gives a good bond along with the wedges but it tends to bleed through and look a bit messy on the back of the frame.
I have been looking at cyanoacrylate glue but need to know if it is a bit more viscose than super glue and less likely to drip?
Any advice welcome
Thanks

I know Toolstation do superglue in various viscosity's they also do the superglue that stays open a bit longer than standard, That is what I use with Polcore.

I use SLO ZAP it's a superglue but slow cure and will bridge across small gaps where regular superglue needs to have precise touching surfaces. It allows you to adjust the corner while joining. Not that I have any gaps on my corners......

Hi,

I use this two part rapid adhesive which works really well with no over-spill

Any Branded HV (High Viscosity) Super Glue. HV glue is thicker so doesn't run and has a slightly longer cure time, both ideal attributes for framing.

Thank you guys. I have ended up using Everbuild high viscosity cyanoacrylate glue ( from Amazon). I just put a strip down the centre of the mitre and it doesn't seem to seep.atbtopband bottom.
