Look at my lovely new bench.

Post by Dave »

Isn't it beautiful, the wine rack at the end was inspired by my wife (bit of a lush), and accomodates mounting film, brown paper etc. and work that comes in rolled up. We never used to know where to put rolls. Just thought I'd share.

I probably should have tidied up before I took the picture.

Neat idea for the wedges on the shelf brackets. I wonder how many Ultimats there are in the world that overhang 4ft MDF worktops? Mine does too but I'm working on a solution.....
There's more to the picture, than meets the eye. Hey hey, my my.

Fill marks to Mrs Dave, the wine rack is a great idea.

And, as an added bonus, Dave now has somewhere to store his yard of ale. :)

be careful storing your laminates like that, you will create a flat spot which will be visiable in the finished pieces

thats why the boxes from hotpress have those centres at either end, so the laminates dot get flat spots

I store mine- laminates- on a Rowney wall rack that was made for rolls of canvas, at the end of the workbench so they can be unrolled to length required. Unfortunately, I have run out of storage space on this since acquiring a Jetmaster and extra rolls, so these are cluttering up underfoot ATM, until I think of somewhere to store them.

Shamefully tidy worktop though!

Thanks for the gen on the flat spots, will put some nice soft deep neoprene or foam rubber on the bottom of the racks, which will help.

The wine rack idea for rolls is great. I might adopt and adapt so that the rolls are vertical and the rack is on a wheeled base. Another job to put on the list.
