Part Time Picture Framing Assistant

Job Description:
Amber Arts is a small, growing business in central Edinburgh. The successful applicant will be enthusiastic and
motivated as an essential and valued member of the team.
Working as a picture framer, you will be part of a two person team mounting, making and
assembling frames. You will also be consulting with customers on frame and artwork options.

Details
Commencing week of Monday 12th May.
Maternity cover for 10 months, but very likely to become a permanent position.
2 days a week, 10am- 5pm. Days of the week to be confirmed, rotational Saturdays.
Competitive Salary

Responsibilities:
 Cutting glass, mount card and backboard to size.
 Mounting a variety of artworks.
 Cutting and joining of raw wood and ready finished mouldings.
 Applying hand finishes; stain, wax and paint.
 Assembling and packing of frames.
 Consulting with customers.
 Handling gallery and framing transactions.

Essential Skills:
 Previous framing experience.
 Good customer service skills.
 Ability to work unsupervised.
 Excellent time management.

Preferable Skills:
 Creative background.
 Gallery or Printmaking Experience.
