wanted high rebate supportsd for morso

Post by muffinski »

Looking for some of these if anyone has some for sale, do not want to use cuts of wood for support.

Hi, sorry for the late response but I rarely log into the the site.
Turn the moulding upside down. The rebate is supported by the bed of the morso.
Most picture framers think they are in the magic circle it's not a dark art it's a box with a lid.
Regards

^^^^^
This is fine if the moulding is flat, if not it's back to the drawing board (or search for the high supports)

Why not use wood blocks?

I stick them on with d/s tape, but a nicer way is to glue some rare-earth magnets in a hole on the the underside.

Cheaper than buying high-rise replacements.

I have a selection of blocks with rare-earth magnets glued into little drill-holes. They work pretty well, but just be aware of one problem - they have a habit of working their way inwards as you nibble your way through the moulding. If you're not careful, you could end up taking a chunk out of your blade with one of the magnets! :Slap:

I found myself cutting some moulding the other day where to my surprise the supports wouldn't go down *low* enough as there was barely any rebate. Ended up using a bit of spacer for them.

Hi

I have a friend who I had machine a pair to my design made from a hard nylon with a magnet that holds them in place, their great I've been using mine for 2 years now with no problems. I will post a photo if you wish.
The last time I asked he wanted £50-00 to machine a pair.
