Ademco 1721 Dry Mount Press - For Sale

Post by jmsmithframing »

Hi!

I'm selling this dry mount press which has been filling the corner of my living room for the past few months.

I bought it along with a few other bits of kit and unfortunately this one doesn't get any use.

I have plugged it in and it switches on and warms up, but it fuses out once it reaches a certain temperature. Its a simple fix i'm sure, but since I'm not looking to use it, I never bothered.

It is in great condition, the press and the wheel move beautifully with no dinks or hiccups!

It is an extremely heavy bit of machinery, but it is on the ground floor, next to the front door, next to the road, so picking it up is a doddle!

I'm based in Bristol, you are welcome to come take a look if you like!

You will be taking it to the scrap dealer I'm afraid. No one wants these anymore and there have been a number on here for free and they cant give them away.

Sorry, but the industry moved onto vacuum presses and even those are now difficult to sell :(

Some artists I know use one of these for monotype printing, without the heat.

What they said^.

Hard-bed presses do have their uses, but one with a fault is basically a boat-anchor.

I've still got mine and now and then I use it to mount oversize stuff. That's where they score over a vac press.
Having said that it maybe every other year that it gets cranked up. Doesn't really justify the space it takes up.
If I could move it it probably would have gone years ago.
