Hi

Looking to buy one of these. Unfortunately not been able to get a response from the person the posted one for sale earlier. Can only assume it has been sold.

If anyone has one to sell- please let me know.

Cheers

MAtt

Matt,
Re the previously advertised Hoffmann, did you try contacting them direct peckhampictures@gmail.com ?
You might have more luck that way..

Thanks for replies

Have just spoken with a supplier and it seems that the hoffman may not be what I need. I dont do hardwoods - just wanted a better way to do deep mouldings but evidently not ideal for this if softwoods.

best regards

matt

Matt,
I'm interested, can you share the advice you were given re using a Hoffmann for deep softwood mouldings?
I was originally encouraged to buy a Hoffmann by a framer who uses it exclusively for deep Tulip wood.
With the W0 router bit, I am able to join narrow tulip wood with a base width of 10mm.
If there is more current advice, could you share it?
Thanks
Justin

I use my Hoffmann exclusively for joining deep rebate softwood mouldings.

Sorry for delayed response. I was told that it is difficult to use with soft wood finished mouldings. i wanted one as I seem to have problems with deeper moulding joints spreading at base when stacking using cassesse .Toying with upgrading Cassesse to one with clamps instead.

I do so few pre-finished mouldings, but yes that's what got me using my underpinner again eventually. The hammering in of keys is occasionally just too much stress compared to pushing up from below.
The hoffmann definitely wins for most unfinished mouldings, unless they're small and easy. Has to be said, after months of Hoffmanning, underpinning is very quick!

Hardwood or softwood are all the same
To the Hoffman, it’s deep rebates when it comes into its own.
