I am currently in the market to purchase the main items to set up my framing workshop, i.e. a Morso, an under pinner etc.
Ideally, I would like to buy second hand and have the items couriered.
Does anyone have any good or bad experiences of purchasing equipment from an advert on the framers forum?
Is there any protection when buying equipment, specifically if you are getting things couriered?
Is there any other advice you can give
Kind Regards?

Re: Looking for advice on "Buyers Protecion"
I have bought small items from the forum with no problems.
Apart from a morso bought from a supplier and couriered, with no problem, everything else was collected. Most framing equipment, in my opinion, is so delicate, that I wouldn't trust a courier or their insurance to ensure that its not thrown around in transit.
If you have to courier I would advise the fastest service possible, to limit the number of times its loaded offloaded reloaded..

I have bought all my framing equipment from here. Always been happy. I collected bigger items and checked them, but always had good quality.
I am also on another forum for woodworking, and have bought big priced items and again been pleased.
To be honest, i would trust guys on forums over ebay and gumtree etc.
Good luck
Nick

Agree about the eBay and Gumtree comment. I've sold and bought here and the community is pretty small and any dodgy goings on would soon get called out. It's not a sales channel though so any deal struck is between you and the seller, nothing to do with the forum itself.

We’ve bought and sold equipment through contacts made on the forum. We’ve never had a problem.
