wanted keencut mountcutter
Keencut mountcutter wanted. I've been bidding on one on ebay and lost out in the last minute (always happens, i'll get the hang of ebay one day) . Now i'm too late to buy the one off Milli (typical) . Anyway are there other places to buy used equipment from or any of you guys & gals got one gathering dust.
As i'm just starting out i'm on a tight budget at the minute so any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks
Gary

If someone outbids you on Ebay, wait until last minute and wack in a high max bid (don't go mad). If the guy you are bidding against is keeping a watch he has got little time to enter another bid. Chances are he will be cautious and bid under your max, in which case Ebay will automatically bid for you, just over his last bid and tell him to bid again. If he is still cautious he will get outbid again. By the time he realises he will have to put in a bigger bid of unknown value to be sure of winning, the time will probably be up and you will have won. But you will only pay slightly more than his last bid, not your max.
Of course he may do the same to you.

There are several utilities, some of which are free, that will bid in the closing seconds of the auction. This activity is called Sniping.Robo wrote:Isn't there a programme you can buy that will do it all for you?
Have a look at Wikipediafor more onfo.

I'm feeling rather like mother. The CMC is now up and running but I think it would be premature to get rid of the keencut. I imagine I'll need to use it to size boards and cut Art-Bak (which the Wizard won't cut without blunting the blades).Grahame Case wrote:Hi Gary,
i was about to say "you can have ours when our Valiani CMC arrives" but mother (in her infinite wisdom) wants to keep a hold of it,
i'd love to help you out this time, but sadly i don't think we can.
good luck though! have you tried the picture business or art business today ?

I'll see what I can manage. Sam from Framers Corner gave me my training session yesterday.
Today has been a bit strange. This afternoon the vet came round to give one of our dogs her final injection. She'd been comatose for two days and hadn't eaten anything since Saturday. When the vet arrived she ran out to greet her and looked full of the joys of life.
So, we've arranged to see the vet again on Friday to sort out some new medication and are just hoping...
Anyway, the net result is that, although I started work at 6.30 this morning I haven't really achieved anything much.
(BTW, I wouldn't want you to think I'm always up that early. Welsh Framing Supplies deliver at 6.15 am on Wednesdays. I usually go back to bed after they've gone but today I thought working would be better than trying to sleep.)

If you are seriously after something on e-bay you need to use bidnapper or a similar service, it costs about a dollar or so a bid but it's worth it if you really want something, not sporting but then it's not a sport is it?

I've had a lot of success with this:
http://www.jbidwatcher.com/
So long as you have a reasonable broadband connection it will bid at the very last moment.
Best of all is the price and the fact that the author offers good support and keeps it up to date when eBay changes it's system.

Mike,
I hope you get a lot of enjoyment from your new toy!
Your space is very cramped. Looks like you will need a visit to the chiropractor every week from using your keyboard, mouse and monitor in those positions.
And what about the vee nailer? From the picture it appears that you must be a contortionist to use that.
I have to ask - what are all those shelves that have tape measures and labels for???
